• Always make certain to alert a relative or close friend of your evacuation, this will help prevent unnecessary rescue attempts by emergency personnel.
• Make sure to secure your home; cover windows with heavy-duty plywood.
• A lot of the damage to your property can be caused by falling shubbery and debris caught in the wind. Make sure the trees/large plants around you are properly trimmed. A large branch falling can cause devastating damage.
